Some early efforts at finding Relevant Articles

I've already started coming up with some initial articles just to get us started, articles having to do with working from home, retirement activities, points on internet marketing, etc. Just short little vignette articles that may hide a nugget or two of useful information. I'll continue to post them here, or in the "Articles" nav link as I discover them.

Jim Daniels has a new article out (Aug 07) that's all about the "trust factor" in online marketing. It's a must read, How The "Trust Factor" Affects Your Web Business...

Sandy Botkin has written a very timely article,  "If You Don't have a Home Busness, Start One Today."

Tina Barraclough has an article out that debunks those Assembly Work-At-Home Scams. A good, short article and worth the read.

And We're Going to do What ???

We're going to get started, that's what !!!!!!!

Just take a clue from Ashley, and do it a building block at a time.

I am not going to bore you with a lot of long winded articles on how to make a bunch of money in a short amount of time. That takes practice, and I just ain't got it. But, what I can try and do is point you in the right direction with some basic building blocks to build your business with.

Jim Edwards and Chris Zavadowski have done a pretty good job of spelling it out, so I'm going to use their thoughts as a base.

According to Jim and Chris, "A lot of people get into an online business with the hopes of killing their "day" job, but all they do is trade one
job for another (often working MORE HOURS at their new "job" than they ever did on their original job!)."

This is because people don't have 3 key items in place......
--------------
#1 You need your OWN product!
--------------
Having affiliate sales is fine, but it's not the path to consistant, manageable streams of income. You cannot control someone else's product.
--------------
#2 You need to BUILD a LIST! (look to the right).
--------------
Actually, you need two lists:
A prospect list, and a customer list. Your prospect list are the ones who are mildly interested in what you have to sell, and your customer list are the ones who actually buy your product.
Through the use of tools like autoresponders, you can feed your prospects a little at a time, AND direct your customers to their product while providing them with an OTO (one time offer) and other upsales. What's a good autoresponder? Check out My Autoresponder Article for the real scoop.
--------------
#3 You need AUTOMATE your SYSTEMS.
--------------

Why? That's where the "set and forget" comes in. You need to set things up so that they run automatically without your interference.

As Jim says, "In other words...ultimately your business can't depend on you to DO much of ANYTHING if you want to have a business that is a "real" business."

"You need people, teams, software, and systems in place so that your business can run without your day-to-day interaction or input.  That's a REAL business."
Once you have your systems in place, you can concentrate on marketing your business, and driving traffic to your site.

Here are some other automation resources that will help in building your business .....

Hosting - see the article I put together with hosting type recommendations.

Autoresponders - another article specifically about this really important tool I consider a must have.

Tools to Online Success - what you need to get it done.

Wordtracker - If you're a Webmaster, or doing any Search Engine Optimization, then you've got to have Wordtracker. It tells you which search terms are popular, suggests alternatives, and can save you a ton of money during PPC campaigns. I out in the cold without it.

Here are some places to help Build Your List:

List Auction - free to join, but will cost to upgrade. And it's a lifetime upgrade if you take advantage of the OTO when you first sign up (if I remember correctly). I really like List Auction. Quick timer on reading emails to get credits, and they have a great promotional staff. List Auction's a winner.

Mike Filsaime's ListDotCom - free to join but it will cost to upgrade. He uses his own opt-in list for you to send to. Watch for the OTO's, they are worth it.

List Joe - my personal favorite. Besides allowing you to send out your marketing message, subscribers and optin members earn points by landing on your landing page. And they've got to stay there for at least 20 seconds to earn the points. Pretty cool, actually, once you see it in action. One point = one mailing.

List Jumper - this is the new kid on the block. It launched Nov 24th, 2008, and already had thousands of prelaunchers join. It's very unique, free to join, and can help you build your list quickly. HINT: take advantage of the OTO if you can because it is well worth it (if you can afford it). It pays for itself in less than 6 months.

Top Surfer - not a list building site per se, but a surfing site where you build credits by reading emails and looking at recommended sites. But, they have a GREAT solo email capability that is extremely responsive, and it works. I recommend the wholesale membership.

I am a member of all of these sites, and they all work to varying degrees. So check them out. But be aware that, even though they are all free to join, their upgrades will cost, and if you do decide to upgrade, I'll get a referral fee. Yippee!

WHAT, NO PRODUCT?
OK - so you don't have your own product. Don't despair. Here's an Affiliate Marketing Technique from Liz Tomey that's sure to get you thinking. Jump here to check it out. It takes some setup, but once your're there, it runs on autopilot.

Here's another idea - Drop Shipping. You don't need your own product, just pick one or two out that you're really familiar with (from thousands), and market it. The Drop Shipper takes care of the order fulfilment. The folks over at Worldwide Brands have probably the world's largest database of ecommerce wholesalers.  They've uncovered thousands of wholesale companies representing millions of different products you can buy at wholesale prices and sell for high profits. Combine the power of eBay Stores and your online presence, and you can have a tidy litttle ecommerce business. Jump here  to read more about the power of Drop Shipping.

I am here to help you in anyway that I can. And, if you have some dynamite ideas you'd like to pass along, let me know in the form of a testimonial, and I'll publish it, along with your affiliate link, untouched by human hands.
